that our community, nation and world are facing a time like nothing any of us
have seen before. As a church, we want
to stay in communication with each of you so that you are aware of how we are
making decisions, how you can be prepared and what you can anticipate from the
church, moving forward.
We have had many challenging discussion that have focused on how we as a staff and board are needing to respond, in light of COVID-19. Collectively, we would love to continue ministry as usual but also clearly recognize that is not possible at this time. It is our responsibility to follow our government and the CDC’s requirements in order to keep everyone safe and help bring resolution to the current health crisis, as soon as possible.
We have reached the following decisions based on these realities:
Until further notice, all Sunday morning services will only be held online. We will not be opening our building to any programs, ministries or events. This includes all outside groups or rentals. This will be the plan moving forward until our board deems it safe to meet again.
We will work hard each week to keep you up to date as to the status for the coming Sunday and following week. On Wednesday, our Executive Team will review current updates from the CDC, Snohomish Health Department and the World Health Organization. Based on what is found, and through conversations with our board, we will determine how the next week will operate. Thursday, all staff/leadership/volunteers scheduled for the upcoming Sunday will receive the updated decision. Friday morning, our Facebook Page, Facebook Group and website will be updated with the plan for that weekend and the following week. We will also send out an email and text message to the contacts that we have in our database.
We will continue to creatively establish ways to provide ministry and support to our church family and community. The best place to find ways to be connected with others, prayer groups, reading opportunities and updates will be through our Facebook “Silver Creek Family Church Group”. If you are not already a part of that, please search for the group and request to join. We are happy to add anyone interested in becoming more involved or informed. As information becomes available we will include any pertinent details in our weekly email.
In the coming weeks you can expect to see more ways that we are going to be serving our community and those within our church. When you become aware of a need, please let us know and we will do our best to respond where we can. If there are ways that we can be praying for you, we would love the opportunity. We will be posting, regularly, asking for prayer requests so feel free to respond to those requests when prompted.
We love each of you and will be praying for your safety, physically, emotionally and spiritually, in the days to come. What we know is that this virus is a big deal but our God is so much bigger. If we approach this with hope and love, we will see God continue to bring transformation to each of our lives and will celebrate His goodness as we move forward.
